Noah Kahan Welcomes Arlo Parks For ‘Stick Season’ At Osheaga.

Noah Kahan welcomed fellow acclaimed singer/songwriter Arlo Parks last night (Aug. 2) at Montreal’s Osheaga festival for a surprise, headlining set-closing collaboration on his song “Stick Season,” the title track of his breakthrough 2022 album. The pair had never performed together before.

For Kahan, who grew up about three hours away in Strafford, Vt., it was a full-circle moment at an event into which he used to sneak whiskey taped to his leg as a younger man. “This fest is extra special to me,” he wrote on Instagram Stories. “Used to bum up to Montreal with my buddies and sleep in parking lots since we couldn’t find hotels with room.”

The team-up with Parks extends Kahan’s love of performing “Stick Season” with others. He has previously sang it onstage with artists such as Olivia Rodrigo, Reneé Rapp and Kelsea Ballerini. “Such a gift to have Arlo join us last night for ‘Stick Season,'” Kahan wrote. “You sounded wonderful and I am such a fan.” Added Parks on Instagram Stories, “Thousands and thousands of voices carrying mine through ‘Stick Season.’ @noahakahanmusic, you’re a sweetheart.”

Kahan’s roadwork in support of Stick Season will continue in North America and internationally through late September. He will also perform as part of a star-studded tribute to the Band’s Robbie Robertson on Oct. 17 in Los Angeles.
