Real estate is all about making a strong first impression, so it’s no surprise that the Oppenheim Group agents bring it in the first few minutes of Selling Sunset Season 8.  Chrishell, Mary, Amanza, Bre, Chelsea, and Emma open the new season, which returns Sept. 6, by preparing for an all-out real estate war. Of course, their battle armor includes Jimmy Choos, Louboutins, and Balenciaga. But don’t let the couture fool you —  the intense professional and personal trials that lie ahead for this group are anything but glamorous. “I was definitely hesitant to dive back into the drama, but also happy to be back together and shake things up,” Chrishell tells Tudum about returning to the office. “I started this season in a good place with most of the agents, with always one exception, and the dynamics have certainly shifted. Pray for us.”

And while fans have come to depend on Mary as the peacemaker among the agents, she says she ranks the upcoming season as “probably my most dramatic with other cast members,” particularly due to an early clash with Chelsea and tensions with Emma. “I wasn’t nervous at all, but I hate confrontation and knew it was bound to happen at some point,” she says. “I’m always hesitant to be around the drama, but I felt disrespected so was willing to address it head-on.” But no matter what’s brewing around the office water cooler, the O Group agents stand on business — and Chrishell wastes no time chasing it in the premiere.

Before we know it in the clip above, she’s off to the first listing of the season: a jaw-dropping $38 million Hollywood Hills compound described as the love child between James Bond and the Playboy Mansion. After a tour of the estate, she and boss Jason Oppenheim sit down to discuss the current dynamics among the agents, including Bre, whose future with the brokerage was left uncertain in the Season 7 finale. “I just assumed that she would stay at the brokerage, but I really don’t know,” Jason says in the clip, to which Chrishell responds, “I do feel like we’re missing her at the office.”

Only time will tell if Bre returns to work, but as the series nears its upcoming five-year anniversary, one thing is clear: this group is stronger together than apart. “We are and hopefully will always remain ‘family’ though, with or without the show,” Mary says. “We’ve had agents come and go, I got married and have had a lot of personal changes along the way, the market has changed dramatically, and cast relationships have changed as well. It’s been a wild ride for sure.”
