Elon Musk prepares to end his relationship with Trump, and the latter praises DOGE.

American billionaire Elon Musk has begun reducing his time in the White House and is preparing to leave his position at the Department of Government Efficiency following the losses his electric car company Tesla is experiencing after 100 days of the Trump presidency.

According to the New York Post, White House Chief of Staff Suzi Weiler said, "Musk, who has been serving as an unpaid special government advisor since President Donald Trump returned to office last January, is no longer regularly conducting his duties from the White House, but he continues to participate in his advisory role by phone."

At the same time, the report indicated that Musk's team continues to operate from the Eisenhower Executive Office Building, a government building located next to the White House.

Elon Musk played a pivotal role in the US administration's efforts during the early days of Trump's second term to cut government spending. He made direct presentations to Trump, participated in Cabinet meetings, and supported plans to cut agencies such as the US Agency for International Development and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. During Tesla's recent earnings call, he indicated that he would refocus his efforts more on the company starting next May, while retaining a partial advisory role within the Department of Government Efficiency. Tesla, the leading electric vehicle manufacturer, has seen a significant decline in its financial performance in recent months amid increasing pressure from slowing global demand, intensifying competition in the Chinese market, and supply chain challenges.

Trump said of the agency's performance, which has been met with widespread condemnation, "Musk and his team did not overstep the mark, and there was no over-speeding or recklessness in their work," emphasizing that the Department of Government Efficiency has saved the country billions of dollars.

He said, "We also found tremendous waste, fraud, and abuse, as you know. We found a lot of fraud.
