The 2025 eSports World Cup continues in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, amidst an exceptional atmosphere.
The second week of the tournament witnessed historic moments filled with amazing achievements and victories, with clubs and players from around the world continuing to deliver outstanding performances befitting the largest event in the world of competitive gaming.
With five weeks remaining before the event concludes, thousands of elite professional gamers from around the world continue to compete for their share of the largest prize pool in the history of eSports, exceeding $70 million.
The second week's events resulted in the crowning of four new champions and the setting of remarkable records.
The tournament also witnessed some of the most inspiring stories, most notably the emergence of a 15-year-old star who won the MVP award at one of the tournaments.
Gen.G Esports claimed the League of Legends Championship title after a thrilling 3-2 victory over Chinese team AG.AL in a breathtaking final.
Despite AG.AL's attempt to stage a historic comeback, Gen.G prevailed in the fifth round, extending their 26-game unbeaten streak, one of the longest in the game's history.
This is the team's second title in a single week, following their victory in the midseason tournament, making them the fastest team in the game's history to win two consecutive international titles.
The second week also marked the end of the Honor of Kings playoffs, with Paws Gaming and Nova Esports topping their groups, alongside Alpha7 Esports and OG Esports.
Team Vitality and Twisted Minds secured the final qualification slots. They joined AG.AL and TT Global.
At the end of the second week, Vitality topped the overall standings in the Club Championship, followed by Gen.G Esports, who continued to accumulate points after their second win this week.
The Falcons came in third, while AG.AL maintained their place in the top four.
The tournament has so far seen eight different clubs crowned champions in various games, contributing to the widening gap between clubs in the rankings.
