NVIDIA's value exceeds $4.2 trillion as stock hits record high

Nvidia stock rose to an all-time high, boosting the company's market capitalization to $4.233 trillion, supported by continued momentum in the AI chip market and the resumption of sales to China.

The stock rose 1.35% to $173.72, after hitting an all-time high of $174.16, extending its year-to-date gains to 29.19%.

This strong performance comes a day after the stock posted a slight gain of 0.4%, amid investor optimism about Nvidia's expansion into global markets, as it benefited from the Trump administration's green light to resume sales of its H20 chips to the Chinese market.

Taiwanese chipmaker TSMC's results also boosted sentiment, reporting a 61% jump in second-quarter profits and raising its annual revenue forecast.

During a quarterly earnings event today, the Taiwanese chipmaker's CEO said that global demand for AI-related chips continues to grow strongly, noting that customer purchasing behavior remained stable in the second half of the year.
