The historic trio: Neymar, Messi, and Suarez may meet again
Press reports revealed that American club Inter Miami is considering a dramatic move to reunite Brazilian Santos player Neymar with his former teammates Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez.
Messi, Suarez, and Neymar formed a historic trio with Barcelona, and despite being in the twilight of their careers, Miami is reportedly considering bringing the three stars together again in MLS.
During their time together at Barcelona between 2014 and 2017, Neymar, Messi, and Suarez scored 364 goals and provided 173 assists for the Spanish giants.
Neymar joined Santos, his boyhood club, in January on a six-month contract after his contract with Al Hilal expired, and then extended his contract with the Brazilian club until December, meaning he will be free to negotiate with other clubs from the end of this year.
The British newspaper, "Daily Mail," reported that Inter Miami is working on renewing the contracts of Messi and Suarez, in addition to considering signing 33-year-old Neymar.
The report added: Although negotiations have not yet begun, Neymar's representatives are aware that this option may be tempting for the player at this stage of his career.
Messi and Inter Miami are still competing with their team for the MLS Cup, with only two games remaining in their regular season in the MLS.
Meanwhile, Messi is also in contention for the MLS Golden Boot award, with the Argentine scoring 24 goals, just one more than Sam Surridge and Denis Bouanga.
