Court documents in the United States have revealed details of a horrific crime that the singer D4vd is accused of, with evidence suggesting premeditation and attempts to cover up the crime.

In one of the most high-profile criminal cases in the United States, recent court documents have revealed shocking details about the indictment of young singer D4vd for the murder of a minor, in a crime described by prosecutors as “carefully planned and brutal.”

The case dates back to April 2025, when the defendant, whose real name is David Anthony Burke, lured the victim, Celeste Rivas Hernandez, to his home. According to the prosecution, he then stabbed her multiple times, leaving her to bleed to death. The investigation suggests that the likely motive behind the crime was the defendant's fear that the victim would expose their relationship, which could negatively impact his artistic career.

The evidence presented by the prosecution shows that the incident was not the result of a momentary impulse, but was preceded by careful preparations. According to the documents, the accused purchased tools used to cut up and dispose of bodies, including electric saws, body bags, a plastic basin, and a shovel, using a pseudonym to complete the purchases in an attempt to deflect suspicion from himself.

After the victim's disappearance, which her family reported, the mystery persisted for several months before her body was found in September 2025 inside a car belonging to the accused. The body was in an advanced state of decomposition, and she was identified through dental records. Investigations revealed that the body had been dismembered in an attempt to conceal the crime.

The documents also revealed additional details regarding the method of disposing of the body. The accused used a plastic basin to prevent blood from leaking during the dismemberment process inside his home garage, and he cut off fingers from the victim's hand to hide a tattoo bearing his name, in a move that the prosecution considered further evidence of an attempt to obliterate evidence.

Alongside the physical evidence, digital evidence played a prominent role in supporting the prosecution's narrative, as the electronic purchase history was tracked, along with monitoring the movements of the accused via surveillance cameras, as well as messages sent from the victim's phone after her death, in an attempt to deceive those around her into believing that she was still alive.

The suspect was arrested in Los Angeles in April 2026 and remains in custody without bail. He faces charges of first-degree murder and ongoing sexual assault of a minor, while pleading not guilty to the charges against him.

The court is scheduled to consider the case during a preliminary hearing expected at the end of next May, amid expectations of widespread interest in the case, given the seriousness of the facts and the possibility that the accused could face penalties of execution or life imprisonment if he is found guilty.

This case brings back to the forefront the issue of crimes related to exploitation and violence against minors, and highlights the role of digital evidence in uncovering modern crimes, and the limits of the perpetrators’ ability to hide their traces in light of technological development.
