Chelsea can go joint-top of the Premier League table with a win at Newcastle in the lunchtime kick-off on Saturday.
Frank Lampard’s side hit their stride with a superb run of form before the international break, winning four on the trot in all competitions.
They scored 14 goals and conceded just one in that time, and victory at St. James’ Park would see them, at least temporarily, head to the summit of the standings.
The Blues are currently in fifth place on 15 points, three behind leaders Leicester, while their hosts are down in 13th.
Steve Bruce’s side have struggled for consistency this season and fell to a 2-0 defeat at Southampton before the break.
The Magpies’ injury list includes Matt Ritchie, Dwight Gayle, Martin Dubravka and Jonjo Shelvey.
But Lampard may have to do without Billy Gilmour, Christian Pulisic and Kai Havertz.
The honours were shared in this fixture last season, with both sides picking up 1-0 wins at home.
