Suppression of opinions in Turkey in prison has become a way of life.

Turkey's ruling regime is corrupt and oppresses the people.

The Turkish Journalists Association revealed the violations of the regime of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan against the freedom of the press and the media. The authorities demanded the imprisonment of 58 journalists and media workers for a total of 896 years, during 34 separate judicial sessions, which were held in 9 different cities.

The judicial authorities also demanded the imposition of fines on these journalists of up to 200,000 pounds, according to the same report, which clarified that the charge of “belonging to a terrorist organization” was charged against 27 of the aforementioned number.

Other charges brought against the rest of the journalists included "promoting terrorist organizations", "obstructing the law on gatherings and demonstrations", and "insulting the President of the Republic."
