The authorities in Turkey issued 99 arrest warrants against soldiers in the General Command of the Gendarmerie Forces, in a continuation of the arbitrary arrests and dismissals of soldiers since the failed coup attempt 5 years ago.
According to the statement issued by the Ankara Public Prosecutor's Office, an investigation was opened against 99 suspects in the General Command of the Gendarmerie Forces, accused of belonging to the service movement.
The investigations were launched based on the reports of the intelligence service. Of the total of those issued with arrest warrants, 55 suspects were arrested in 40 provinces, due to security operations launched by the anti-terrorist teams of the Ankara Police Efforts are underway to arrest the fugitives.”
