Britain intends to invest 1.5 billion pounds in establishing arms factories.
The British government has pledged £1.5 billion ($2 billion) to establish at least six factories and support the purchase of around 7,000 UK-made long-range weapons.
British Prime Minister Keir Starmer pledged a wave of new investment to transform the armed forces into a "comprehensive and powerful fighting machine" as part of the government's defense policy review.
Starmer said he would invest in a military that is "more integrated, more prepared, and more lethal than ever before," according to the British news agency PA Media.
The new funding is set to bring UK munitions spending to £6 billion during the current parliamentary term and will support around 1,800 jobs across the country.
Starmer described the review as a "radical plan" that will drive investment in shipbuilding, drone technology, and cyber defenses.
Writing in The Sun, Starmer said that preparing for tomorrow's threats means "bringing together all our capabilities—from drones to artillery, to human instinct and intelligence—into one powerful, integrated fighting machine."
"To achieve this, we will announce a wave of new investment in our armed forces on land, in the air, and at sea," Starmer said.
Starmer added, "We will invest in a fighting force that is more integrated, more prepared, and more lethal than ever before, restoring Britain to its rightful place as a defense leader and a NATO leader."
"We will provide better equipment for our soldiers when they fight overseas, so they can use the full range of conventional and technological capabilities," Starmer said.
