An iPhone feature that has been confusing and embarrassing users since 2015
iPhones seem to have a feature that might seem ordinary and traditional on any phone, but with the iPhone, it embarrasses its users by accidentally revealing their personal secrets.
This feature is iMessage audio recordings in the Messages app, which allows you to send recorded voice messages instead of typing them.
Many users on Reddit and Threads complained that they were constantly finding that recording an iMessage voice message was being accidentally and accidentally deleted.
Users said they discovered embarrassing voice messages being sent to some of their contacts via the feature by mistake. One user described a voice message he made while in the bathroom that was accidentally sent to his boss.
Others recounted other embarrassing situations in which these voice messages were recorded and sent to one of their contacts.
It turned out that the reason behind these incidents was the "Raise to Listen" option, which is automatically enabled with the iMessage feature.
This option allows users to listen to audio recordings when they hold the phone up to their ear, but it also works in reverse.
When a user raises the phone to their ear, or even just brings it close to their ear, while the iMessage feature is open, this can accidentally activate audio recording.
This option can be disabled by opening Settings, then Apps, then Messages, scrolling down until you see the "Raise to Listen" option and disabling it.
Disabling this option may make it a little more difficult to listen to voice messages, but it will prevent unintended messages.
Apparently, the "Raise to Listen" option has been causing strange and embarrassing voice messages to be sent by mistake since at least 2015.
