Laporta aims to snatch Haaland with an exceptional offer to succeed Lewandowski
Barcelona's dreams of signing Norwegian Erling Haaland are back in the spotlight, despite the financial woes that continue to hamper the Catalan club.
According to Spanish press reports, club president Joan Laporta sees the Manchester City striker as the ideal choice to lead the team's attack after the contract of veteran Polish striker Robert Lewandowski (37 years old) expires in June 2026.
Spanish newspaper El Nacional reported that despite considering a deal for Atletico Madrid's Argentine star, Julian Alvarez, Laporta is more focused on signing Haaland.
She continued, " Haaland , who is still tied to a long-term contract with Manchester City until 2034, earns a whopping £400,000 a week, making the deal extremely financially complex."
El Nacional confirmed that Laporta is preparing an exceptional offer, considering the Norwegian player to be a "big dream" that could restore the Blaugrana's luster. The same sources indicate that Barcelona is considering alternative options, including Argentine Julian Alvarez, the Atletico Madrid star, but the priority remains Haaland, who has scored 111 goals in 126 appearances for Manchester City since joining from Borussia Dortmund in 2022 for £51 million.
Observers believe Manchester City's current inconsistent results may give Barcelona a glimmer of hope of convincing the Norwegian

"Laporta aiming for Haaland while Barça still struggling financially… sounds like trying to buy a Ferrari on a bicycle budget 😂.

ReplyDeleteSigning Haaland would be a dream for Barça, but with his contract until 2034 and that massive salary, it feels almost impossible.
