Former footballer Benjamin Zarandona has revealed new details about the controversial dinner that the mother of his friend, Barcelona striker Lamine Yamal, is reportedly planning to host in London next November.

Zarandona explained that Yamal's estranged mother, Sheila Ibana, was not the organizer of the event, but would only be attending as a guest. He noted that he had mediated between the organizing company and Ibana to attend the event.

Earlier, press reports indicated that the Barcelona striker's mother "turned her son's fame into a business venture."

Reports indicate that Ebana has announced a private party in London, and those wishing to attend will have to pay between 150 and 800 euros to share a table and take photos with her.

For its part, the company organizing the event, called " Football Fans Christmas Party ," promoted the phrase, "Don't miss the chance to meet the mother of the world's best football player."

However, former Equatorial Guinea international Zarandona explained in an interview with Spanish radio station Cadena Ser that the event organizing company, Gen C Events, contacted him and asked him to decorate the charity gala dinner he organizes every year.

He continued: "The company saw a photo of me with Lamine Yamal's mother, and you know the strong friendship I have had with her for many years, due to our ties to Equatorial Guinea," according to the Spanish newspaper Marca.

He continued: "The company asked me: 'Is it possible for us to bring Sheila Ebana to the party?' I said: 'Okay, we'll look into it and talk, and that's it.'"

He continued: "We reached an agreement. They signed me as a former football player. I contacted Lamine Yamal's mother  , presented us with some terms, and they agreed to them."

He pointed out: "Sheila is not the party organizer, she is just a guest, nothing more. She posted some things that surprised me. She was just invited and didn't do anything."

Regarding the concert ticket prices, he said: "We simply contracted with them to attend a dinner they will organize, and they are the ones who set the prices, and it is clear that they will want to cover the dinner."

After the announcement of the event went viral on social media , Sheila and the organizing company announced a change of hotel location due to the high demand for the dinner.

"We are excited to announce that advance tickets are still available and are selling fast. Get yours today and be part of the event," Gen C Events said in its announcement, along with a video of Lamine Yamal's mother.

The organizing company has prepared three ticket categories, the cheapest of which is priced at 150 euros and includes a welcome drink and a three-course menu.

The middle class costs around 400 euros and offers the best seats in the hall.

The VIP ticket costs 800 euros and includes a special table and the opportunity to take photos with Yamal's mother.

The event will accommodate approximately 400 people over the age of 18.
