AirPods' real-time translation feature is finally coming to EU users.

Apple has announced that the Live Translation feature in AirPods will finally be available to EU users in December, after a delay of several months due to the requirements of the European Digital Markets Act (DMA).

Apple first revealed the feature during the launch of the AirPods Pro 3 last September, along with the AirPods 4 with active noise cancellation (ANC) and the AirPods Pro 2 version.
The feature only works when the headphones are connected to an iPhone that supports Apple Intelligence and runs iOS 26 or later, according to a report published by "gsmarena" and reviewed by "Al Arabiya Business".

The instant translation feature allows users to translate conversations in real time between multiple languages, while protecting user privacy thanks to local processing on the device.
Currently supported languages include English, French, German, Portuguese (Brazilian), Spanish, Italian, Chinese (Simplified and Traditional), Japanese, and Korean.

If both parties are using AirPods with the feature enabled, ANC will lower the other speaker's voice to clarify the translation and make the conversation sound more natural. If the other party is not using AirPods, the translated text can be displayed directly on the iPhone screen.

The feature has also been integrated into the Messages, FaceTime and Phone Calls apps, enabling seamless translation in both text and voice conversations, making it a new step in integrating artificial intelligence into Apple's everyday products.
