Wembley will host the 2028 European Championship final.

Organizers have confirmed that the opening match of the European Championship "Euro 2028" will be held in Cardiff, the capital of Wales, at the National Stadium.
Britain and Ireland will jointly host the next edition of the European Championship, with the semi-finals and final taking place at the iconic Wembley Stadium in London.

The details were confirmed during the official launch ceremony for the continental championship, which included the announcement of the event's identity.

England previously co-hosted the European Championship "Euro 2020", which was postponed for a year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, noting that it also organized the tournament in 1996.
The tournament was expanded in 2028 to include the United Kingdom and Ireland, with eight host cities, while the qualifying draw will take place in the Irish capital, Belfast, in December 2027.

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer stated, "This tournament will attract fans from across Europe to footballing metropolises like Birmingham and Glasgow, inspire the next generation to get involved, and generate billions in economic benefits."
The tournament is scheduled to kick off on June 9, 2028 at the National Stadium in Wales, while the final will be held on July 9 at Wembley Stadium.

The tournament matches will be held in the cities of Birmingham (Villa Park), Cardiff (National Stadium of Wales), Dublin (Dublin Arena), Glasgow (Hampden Park), Liverpool (Everton Stadium), London (Tottenham Hotspur Stadium), London (Wembley Stadium), Manchester (Etihad Stadium), and Newcastle (St. James' Park).
The quarter-final matches are scheduled to be played at Dublin Arena, Hampden Park, the National Stadium of Wales and Wembley Stadium, while one match in the round of 16 will be played at each host stadium except Wembley.

The competition will feature 24 teams, divided into 6 groups of 4 teams each, playing 51 matches over 31 days. The top two teams from each group will advance to the knockout stage, along with the four best third-placed teams.
The matches from the round of 16 to the final are played in a knockout format. It is worth noting that Spain won the Euro 2024 title after defeating England in the final.
