The noose is tightening... Muslim Brotherhood organizations are in the crosshairs of German fire.

The repercussions of the decision by the Central Council of Muslims in Germany to revoke the membership of the "German Islamic Assembly" association, which security authorities classify as a group affiliated with the Muslim Brotherhood, are still strongly present, in light of expectations that a decision may soon be issued to ban the activities of other institutions affiliated with the organization within the country.

The head of the European Center for Counterterrorism and Intelligence Studies, Jassim Mohammed, predicted that the coming period would witness more measures that would monitor the organization’s activity, counter its spread, and ban its activities.

Mohammed told Sky News Arabia that a number of other organizations, including the Islamic Relief Agency in Germany, have been proven to be linked to the Muslim Brotherhood and are awaiting similar decisions, explaining that according to the German government, Islamic Relief in Germany is part of the Brotherhood network.

He pointed out that there is significant overlap in management and organization between Islamic Relief Germany and its parent organization in Britain ( IRW) , and there are also overlaps between Islamic Relief Germany ( IRD ) and the German Islamic Community ( DMG) , formerly known as the Islamic Community in Germany ( IGD) , which is considered the largest organization in Germany linked to the Muslim Brotherhood.

Mohammed explained that the German domestic intelligence service had decided to monitor the activities of the Muslim Brotherhood , in addition to monitoring the mechanism by which political Islam organizations, under their various names, operate.

German intelligence estimated the number of Muslim Brotherhood members in Germany at 1,000, but this likely refers to members with more structured organizational ties than to mere supporters. The German intelligence service, particularly in the state of Baden-Württemberg, was particularly concerned that the Brotherhood focused on infiltrating institutions such as universities.

The security expert confirmed that the Muslim Brotherhood has become a source of concern for the German intelligence services and the Supreme Islamic Council, and this is what prompted members of the Central Council of Muslims in Germany to revoke the membership of the "German Islamic Assembly" association, which the German security authorities classify as a group affiliated with the Muslim Brotherhood.
The council, which includes a number of Islamic organizations, associations and federations in Germany, said on January 31, 2022, that it had decided to exclude the German Islamic Assembly ( DMG ) and its members.

He pointed out that the decision of the Supreme Council in Germany ( ZMD ) came late in the wake of recent German government policies regarding limiting the activities of extremist groups within the so-called "legal spectrum," which can be defined as including extremist Islamist groups that adopt soft policies of spreading extremism, inciting hatred, and providing logistical support to extremist organizations.

At the end of last November, an official report was issued by the European Parliament, entitled “The Muslim Brotherhood Networks in Europe,” which dealt in detail with the map of the Muslim Brotherhood’s infiltration in 10 European countries. The report focused on several ideas that represent the terrorist reference for the organization, namely the Muslim Brotherhood’s empowerment project,

doctrinal differences, the organization’s concept of nationalism, and funding. The report, which is being officially issued for the first time by the European Parliament, explicitly accused the Muslim Brotherhood of forming hostile lobbies against countries, spreading extremist ideology, and exploiting laws and legislation to create huge economies in order to provide funding sources for the organization.

On the official level, several European countries have strengthened their anti-terrorism and anti-extremism measures on their territories, most notably Austria, Germany and France, which have banned the activities and slogans of several terrorist organizations in recent periods, including the Muslim Brotherhood, the Turkish Grey Wolves, Ansar al-Dudiyah, and others.

It appears that the terrorist Muslim Brotherhood organization is facing a dark fate within the European continent, which has long provided safe havens for the organization and offered it all forms of support, but has recently become aware of the dangerous role the organization plays in spreading extremism and terrorism.
