Manchester City under Emirati ownership: 25 titles and Guardiola's dominance

Manchester City succeeded in adding a new title to its trophy cabinet, by winning the English League Cup (Carabao Cup) for the ninth time in its history.
The Carabao Cup became Manchester City's seventh title in the competition under the ownership of the Abu Dhabi United Group for Development and Investment, since they took over the club in 2008, before the City Football Group was later established.

Manchester City's trophies during the Abu Dhabi Group era

Manchester City has raised its number of titles under the City Group umbrella to 25 titles in various local, continental and global tournaments, over the course of 18 years.
Over the course of 114 years, from the founding of Manchester City in 1894 until 2008 before its ownership was transferred to, the club won only 12 titles: two English league titles, two League Cups, four FA Cups, three Community Shields, and one European Cup Winners' Cup.

After 2008, and up to the first quarter of 2026, the Sky Blues won 25 titles, including first-time titles such as the Champions League in 2023.
Furthermore, Manchester City have won the Premier League 8 times, the Community Shield 4 times, the FA Cup 3 times, the European Super Cup once, and the Club World Cup once.

English club championships in the Abu Dhabi Group era

Manchester City is considered the most decorated English club in the era of the Abu Dhabi Investment Group.
While City sits atop the list with 25 titles, Chelsea comes in second with 17 titles, a difference of 8 titles, followed by Manchester United (15), Liverpool (10), and Arsenal

What has Manchester City achieved under Guardiola?

Manchester City also achieved great success during the period in which Spaniard Pep Guardiola took over as the team's technical leader, since 2016.
The Sky Blues have won 19 titles under Guardiola, over a period of 10 years.
Ironically, Manchester City, before Guardiola’s arrival, had won 18 titles over 138 years, one less than the Spanish coach.
