Israeli hackers managed to intercept Iranian television broadcasts on Wednesday and called on Iranian citizens to take to the streets.

Iran's Tasnim News Agency reported interference and disruptions in some of the satellite signals of the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB).

The IRIB News Department announced that: "If viewers are seeing irrelevant images, it is due to a disturbance in the satellite signals on IRIB's networks."

On its Telegram channel, Hamshahri newspaper published a brief video of the hack, accompanied by the following text: "Hackers hacked into state television and broadcast a call for people to take to the streets."

State television warned viewers that this "resulted from cyber attacks launched by the Zionist enemy that disrupted satellite broadcasts."
