The union confirmed that pharmacists are not responsible for the shortage of drugs, and requested that drug pricing policies be updated immediately. Turkey imports most of its medicine needs, and the instability of the lira affects the price of imported medicine.
It was pointed out that the drug pricing policies and the drug price decree, have not been updated for 14 years, and that is the reason why patients cannot access medicines as they are difficult to provide at the old prices.
There is a serious shortage of a number of medicines, and the government has demanded that the problem be treated immediately.
