FIFA to Stage First Halftime Show at 2026 World Cup Final
In what is considered the biggest move in the history of the tournament, a group of the most prominent international music stars will participate, led by Madonna, Shakira and the famous Korean band BTS.
FIFA revealed details of the show through a funny promotional video featuring Coldplay star Chris Martin, along with Sesame Street characters such as Elmo, Kermit, and Miss Piggy, in a festive atmosphere that revealed the participating stars in an innovative way.
A historic final at MetLife Stadium
The World Cup final is scheduled to take place on July 19, 2026 at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, USA, amid expectations of unprecedented attendance and public interest, especially after the 2022 final was watched by more than 500 million viewers worldwide.
A humanitarian initiative using proceeds from the concert
FIFA confirmed that the proceeds from the performance will go to the “FIFA Global Education Fund”, an initiative that aims to raise approximately $100 million to support education around the world and expand opportunities for children to play football.
An experience evolving towards a massive global showcase
This event is an extension of FIFA’s previous experiences with musical performances, after the 2025 Club World Cup featured an artistic segment with the participation of a number of international stars such as Doja Cat, Tims and Jay Balvin, but the 2026 World Cup final show is expected to be the biggest and most watched in the history of the tournament. The World Cup returns to the United States for the second time after the 1994 edition, which set records in fan attendance, while the 2026 edition kicks off on June 11 amid global anticipation for an exceptional tournament in terms of organization and accompanying events.
