Shakira releases her World Cup anthem, achieving millions of views.
Global singer Shakira posted a short clip of the official song for the 2026 FIFA World Cup finals on her Instagram account on Thursday. The Colombian star of Lebanese origin appears at the beginning of the song "Day Day", walking on the field of the famous "Maracana" stadium in Rio de Janeiro,
carrying the official World Cup ball of the tournament named "Trionda" under her arm. Then the international singer sang part of the song accompanied by dancers, and finally, the camera moves away from the stadium to show the phrase "We are ready" written on the ceiling.
10 million views in 3 hours
The song achieved approximately 10 million views in less than 3 hours, amid widespread interaction from its fans. The official World Cup anthem, performed by Shakira in collaboration with Nigerian musician Burna Boy, is scheduled for release in full next Thursday, and FIFA shared the singer's Instagram post.
Shakira previously sang the official song for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, which was called "Waka Waka". The World Cup will be held in June and July 2026 in the United States, Canada and Mexico. It is reported that the pop star performed a free concert on Copacabana Beach in Rio de Janeiro in front of an estimated two million visitors.
